This Ford T-1000 tractor was built in 1965 for Ford by Jacobsen, as were many of the small garden tractors of that time. The T-1000 was only built for one year, 1965, and there are 452 serial numbers listed as T-800 & T-1000 models. The serial numbers start with 1601 and the last one produced was 2052. The serial number of this tractor is 1692. The T-1000 has a 10 hp air cooled Kohler K241S engine. The T-800 featured a 8 hp Kohler engine. In 1966 the T-800 & T-1000 were replaced with a upgraded tractor called the T-80 & T-100. Later versions were called the LGT, for Lawn & Garden Tractor, with models 100, 120, 125, 145, & 165. My father bought this tractor new in the fall of 1965 from Ypma Implement in Ladysmith, WI., who was the local Ford tractor dealer. He also ordered some options & attachments with the tractor such as a headlight kit, tire chains, snow plow blade, snow blower & a mower deck. The mower & snow blower were belt driven. As a young lad in 1965 I drove this tractor home from the dealer to my dad's home which was about 2 miles away. My dad followed behind me in his truck blocking traffic from hitting me on the shoulder of the highway. The complete restoration took me two months after tearing it completely apart. All of the decals & graphics you see on the tractor are exact duplicates of the originals & located in the same locations as they were when the tractor was new. All this T-1000 has to do from now on is to look pretty at the tractor shows, at least while I own it.

Hi, my name is Rohan. I bought a ford t-800 a little while ago. I am currently getting ready to disassemble it. My trans needs opened to replace all the bushings and seals. I was wondering if you had more pictures of your restoration and any help with it and the transmission rebuild, any help would be appreciated.

That was a great story! Nice work on it... I'm glad it is back home.

Looks beautiful! Enjoy it, show it, and mow with it once in a while. Keep the deck cleaned out and it'll last forever.

I am working on a Ford 120 right now, and really learned a lot through your documentation. Very nice! What paint did you use?

Sorry to take so long to reply. I haven't checked this site for quite while. The hood graphics were made by Moody Aerographics in FL. They have the T-1000 graphics in their computers now from this tractor, correct size & colors. They do a beautiful job.

(Using my wifes account) I have a T-800 and would LOVE to be able to get the hood decals. Mine still has the originals, but they would need replaced when I restore it. Were yours custom made or is someone reproducing them? Thanks! And a very impressive and satisfying restoration you did.
