SOLD! for $1800 Background: This started off as a small project in 2009? or 10, I cant remember. I turned up the stock pump as high as it would go "till it ran away" and drove it like that for a bit. After a trip down to the store I immediately figured out it needed more air and more appeal, but not too much, I was initially going for sleeper status. I mounted a GT3267R turbo under the hood with a flush hood stack. This was fine and dandy for about 1 pull then the head gasket went. It sat for another 6 months till I gathered enough courage to tear the head off and reset the timing by hand with no special tools. Turns out that this is a FUCKING WHORE. front and rear cam gears are conical slip fit and there are NO timing marks. After trial and error, it runs. Since the turbo was canted at a 30 degree angle, it never drained the oil properly and ALWAYS blew oil on the car when it sat for more than 5 seconds at a time. Long story short I got a job offer in NC and move up there for 2 years leaving my volvo to sit in my back yard with no cover over the stack. (well, there was a cover but it was gone when I returned) a fresh battery, stale fuel and starter fluid brought it back to life and onto a trailer to my new shop in conroe where it sat for another year till I had the time to properly fit the turbo kant, fix the radiator, install the a\c, fix all the DOT problems and get plates to drive it around. The reason the turbo sticks out of the hood is because the riser I made from recycled stainless exhaust was a little tall and I honestly forgot about the hood till I tried to close it. (yeah, i know, im stupid) However when I saw it, it had to stay like that. I found a velocity stack in my random turbo parts box and it sealed the deal. Yes it was legal to drive on the roads. It doesnt require emissions since its 1. an antique car, 2. diesel 3. build pre 08. It had working high and low beams, blinkers, new wipers, good tires, safe steering, all brakes worked including the e-brake, seat bealts, horn (in the pass. seat) and brake lights. instagram: @hvguy RELISTED! 12/10/14 This is a quick tour of the car, a short drive to show it all works and a few more details... in detail.
