I'm going to one of the biggest ones in the country next week, The National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky. It's a good show if you're a farmer, or, like me and most of my audience, a rural lifestyler. There are farm shows that cater to the big tractor and combine guys, like Husker Harvest Days and the Farm Progress Show, there are shows that are for us compact tractor guys, and shows that do a decent job of serving both audiences, which Louisville does. This video is a plea to get all of my viewers to participate in identifying which shows are the best for our market so, if we're in the buying mode, we know where to travel to see the good stuff. Farm Shows are a great place to shop because you can see a wide variety of brands, sizes and options, all in one place. At the National Farm Machinery Show, manufacturers usually try to highlight the latest in technology and innovation and I'm going to try to capture that to use in future videos and I may also do some Facebook live streaming from the show just to try out that platform, which seems pretty simple to use, providing the battery in my phone holds up. I'm also challenging all of my viewers, if you know of some really good farm shows in your area, put them in the comments below. As rural lifestyle customers, not everyone knows that a "farm" show is a good place to see small equipment, but some of them are, and if we pool all of our experiences we might be able to identify the really good ones so we don't waste our time with ones that don't cater to our products. If you want to watch my first attempts at live streaming to the world, go to my Facebook page and "like" it, and you'll be notified when I go live. Also, if you have anything you want me to scope out in Louisville, put it on my Facebook page and I'll see what I can find. A link is at the top of this page. Finally, here's a link to most of the North American farm shows, some are obviously not tailored to our audience, but some might be good, and if they're close, go check them out and let the rest of us know: http://www.agrimarketing.com/arsg.php. Tractor Mike! I just saw you yesterday at the national farm machinery show in Louisville! I wanted to say hello and thank you in person for all your content, but you were doing an interview with a marketing guy for a tractor company and I didn't want to interrupt! My kids were plumb worn out and we left before you were done, but we appreciate what you do here!

I know it is nothing to do with this topic. What would you recommend a back blade for a 40Hp tractor. I had one from a 25hp tractor, will it work or is it to light?

This is a great idea. I need to get to the Springfield show some time. If you have some information where you can link to the "really good shows" on your web site that would be extremely helpful for us shoppers.

Missouri state fair in Sedalia always has a lot of dealers and equipment on display. We found out which dealers really wanted to be helpful, and those that only wanted commercial farm business.

I bought my first tractor, a 35 horse Branson 4WD compact utility tractor not quite one year ago. I enjoy your channel and will try to attend a few shows this year and let you know what they're like.

State fairs are good too. Especially the big ones like the state fair of Texas.

I would say buy a vintage tractor much cheaper to run.

From a born and raised Louisvillian, Welcome. I hope you enjoy our city. From downtown only go south or east. DO NOT GO WEST beyond 7th street.
-
what do you think about State Fairs? I am most familiar with IA and MN, but they both have all the manufacturers.
-
Mike, in our area The Mother Earth News has a show where some tractor vendors will have compacts and implements. They have several shows around the country every year. You can look them up online for dates of the events.

Mike the best one was the INTERNATIONAL FARM AND EQUIPMENT SHOW in mississauga Ontario Canada. I haven't been back there in 10 years since Deere , Massey, International and Ford New Holland stopped showing up. It was a massive show and the last year it was Kubota, Kioti , and some units i have never heard of at the time like mahindra . It went down hill because of the lack of interest i guess. Tractor dealers up here are far and few between in towns compared to 30 years ago. Good idea Mike.

Hey Mike. I didn't know Louisville had a show like that. I am in Indianapolis which is only about 90 mins north on I-65. I may go to that.
