Craftsman tractors are my favorite. We had one for nine years with very little issues. John Deere is second on my list. We might get a second new lawn tractor soon, it will more than likely be the new Craftsman with power steering. We have a Husqvarna right now. In my opinion buying it was a mistake. The motor blew the first couple of months we had it.

i have a countax. Ive had it for years and nothing has broken. Its brilliant!
-
NONE. Get used machines from 5-10 years ago. No plastics, thicker metals and better bearings..

I have a craftsman mower like yours. Used it for 15 years then had an issue with steering. Steering wheel would just spin. I took it apart and found the upper and lower shaft was glued together instead of using the nut and bolt supplied with the shaft. Was easy to fix. Just put it together again using the nut and bolt.
Makes you wonder who's building these things. -
MTD with a John Deere badge, I guess it gets the job done but it's night and day from a commercial John Deere rider when it comes to longevity.

I want a race car mower.

Thanks

We have 2 La 105 John Deeres and there are the best ones that we have had. We have a cub cadet like that too and and it has been great and we are a small commercial company

mine has done great hate safety cant figure out how to disconnect I disconnected the one in back but wont restart
-
I had the 54 inch pulon pro [same as sears] with the 4 bolt jacksafts and the bolt ears would always brake off had to rebuild deck every year you can drill-tap those housings and add grease fittings and greasable bearings but mine never lasted that long
so I got the after market ones from amazon every year -
Thats a good idea using the grease needle on those bearings , Thanks for sharing

My 1999 mtd tractor is well built it has never broke down.
-

-
my riding lawn mower will not say anything
-
AYP (American Yard Products) makes all of the following junk.... MTD, Craftsman, Yardman, Troy Built, Husqvarna, & The Big Box Store John Deere Models.
-
my 127 1969 cub cadet will pull those tractors all over the place. my 127 will plow a field, push snow, pulled my pick up out of the back yard the rears on the older ones are no match to these weak newer ones...

If you want a good, stout, well-built mower for a reasonable price, buy an Ariens. Available at Home Depot.
-
All you have to do is drill and tap a properly sized hole in the spindle body and screw in a grease zerk fitting. Remove the bearings and remove the inner bearing caps and re-install. The spindle bearings will last forever as long as you keep the spindle/bearings greased. No-brainer.

Don't be taking shit about cub cadets is better than the craftsman and John Deere combined so shut up

i have a yardsman riding mower, is that a good brand?
