OK, so after several days of working on this project with the Mini Excavator, Skid Steer and Kioti Tractor I decided to call in a dozer to finish the project. (It did not work out this way...) Anyway so the excavator sent over a small dozer. Watch some progress of the dozer in action. After a short day my excavator and I disagreed on how big of a project was left. He estimated it to be $4,000 to $5,000 of work left even using a BIG Dozer and/or BIG excavator. That was all the motivation that i needed to get this thing done on my own....

Solid reasoning for you to do the playing in your sand box. Might take longer but just means more seat time for the Kapper

Hey Kapper!
Love the videos and what you are doing. I get to live through you a bit with the machinery. One thing I suggest is to use some speed up shots of the tractor work. I love to see it, but watching it in real time can be pretty boring and I find myself skipping through to see the progress. Great work and keep up the vids -
More than 1 way to skin a cat. I think a box scraper attachment on the back of your tractor would be really fast. You could do big laps without stopping and just lift and drop the 3 pt hitch depending on where you want to move the clay. Maybe traction is an issue thou.

Love your vids short to the point and inspiring!

How hard can it be to run a bulldozer ? Harder than you'd think I guess. Don't make it to big that you can't shoot across.
-
What you didn't operate the dozer with all of your experience. Lol
-
you should have just kept whittling away at it, something to do with free time
-
How do you edit your videos? By the way we just bought a new E35 with the long arm option. 😎

Ya that operator ?? needs a little more time at DOZER SCHOOL for sure . You and Ryan did a better job with your equipment . O well , live and learn . stay safe , Bob k
-
how much cost that dozer job ?
-
Have you hired that operator before? He looks a little inexperienced on a dozer. That little D4 should have done more work than that in a complete day. Easy to second guess from here on my couch though! LOL

I had expected him to push from the center to the banks and pile it all up. I don't really see that it went any deeper, just sort of pushed it around. I don't think this guy has much experience in making duck ponds. That is not to say that you didn't leave him with a lot of dirt to push to the side, but there wasn't a lot of progress made from a depth or or bank perspective.

I hear ya, everyone wants the big bucks and can't work hard to get it. Chickens will be demanding a buck an egg soon.

Looking good kapper

why don't you just rent a dozer for a week ? Do it yourself- I rented one up here, northern illinois.Cost a grand for a week, lots of fun+big pond now...

Man Kapper, really coming together with some cool equipment.
