Caterpillar recently released a video called 'Stack' showcasing machines playing a unique game of Jenga. If you were really determined to build a huge structure out of Jenga blocks, you could clear out store shelves or do what authorities at Caterpillar did and utilize heavy machinery. The company recently released a video called 'Stack' showcasing several of their machines playing a unique game of Jenga. A few key pieces of involved equipment include a Cat 320E excavator, an M316D rubber tire excavator, a 277D loader, a TH514C telehandler and a 349E hydraulic excavator. In the clip, the heavy equipment operators used the machines to intricately stack, lift, push and pull the giant makeshift Jenga pieces that, in size, are equivalent to wooden beams. The end result is what Caterpillar calls the 'largest board game played with Cat equipment'. Viewers of the video get to see how tedious the job is and how precise and smooth the equipment is when used in difficult situations, like removing and piling blocks on barely balanced structures. In the end, the massive stack wobbled and harshly crashed to the ground when a heavy block is placed on top, but it is worthwhile to mention, the pile got very high before finally collapsing. The Cat version of the Jenga game reportedly took 28 hours to complete and took place in an arena, larger than two NFL football fields. The 'Stack' video is the first in a series that utilizes Cat equipment in unusual experiments.
