out of the 6 company's i worked for, the best one was Edwards Brothers trucking, out of Idaho Falls, Idaho, but then they sold the company to Knight Refrigerated, then i worked for them till i didn't pick up a sleep apnea kit during my 4 days off, and they fired me.

Really appreciate your advice, as I recently made the decision to get my CDL. In fact, my DOT physical is scheduled for the first week of Jan 2017, and if I pass, then I'll take the learner permit exam, and start shopping around for a freight company who trains new drivers.

As a O/O in the tanker business I feel like the company. needs you more than you need them. but that isn't true nowadays everybody is replaceable. sad to say

Drive for an LTL carrier. Pay is way better. Home daily or every other day. Scheduled days off once you get a bid run or PND route. OTR TL pay can't come close to LTL LH pay. PND pay is still better than OTR pay and your home everyday, mostly off nights, holidays and weekends. OTR is only to get your training and experience. Then it's time to move on

Our problem is, all these companies guarantee what we're asking for but once it comes time for them to deliver we're sitting there asking them what's going on. The past 3 companies my husband has worked for has lied to get us in the door.
