I had a 1997 LT1000 with a 19 HP Opposed Briggs Turbo Cool. It give me problems the three years or so I owned it and it wouldn't start one day and I finally got fed up with it and sold it for a 100 dollars. Talked a few weeks later to the guy who bought it coils were bad and carbed was stopped up. I like those old twins when they are running correctly. I sold the 97 and had a 96 Craftsman Lawn tractor my neighbor gave me sold them both a bought a Scotts built by Murray 1998 model with a 15 HP Kohler Command in it. Still have it to this day and runs great. I love it but, I would still love to have another one of these twins.

I have an 87, Works good. The same thing except one air filter bolt, 2 seat springs and no white line on the dash. It is one of the garden tractors with the big back wheels, not the puny ones lol. The guy (i think) wanted 600 and i snagged it for 450, Well 440 because its all i had on me Its the 5 speed with a44 deck, 42 plow, chains and an extra deck belt. Oh and 3 extra blades

Man you wouldn't believe how many times I've watched this video, it really helped me out at first a year and a half ago. I have one of these except it's an 86, 917.255822. It sat on the side of our house for about 4 years before I actually had enough interest to get it going, and lemme tell ya I fell in love with it after that. Sadly the deck was rusted to shit so I had to replace it with a 38" one I found. I'm working on repainting it. I wish it was in as good condition as the one in this vid.
