Each year the Edendale Vintage Machinery Club run a Vintage machinery working display at Edendale, a Crank-up weekend. They ran their annual event this year on the weekend of January 31st / February 1st 2015. The themes for this year were Celebrating Steam in Southland and Commercial Vehicles Pre 1995. Special guest this year was (Retired) Det Insp Graham Bell of Police Ten-7 fame. Edendale is situated about halfway between Invercargill and Gore. The Edendale Crank-up is the biggest weekend event held in Southland and also the largest in New Zealand of this kind on an annual basis. It attracts visitors from all over New Zealand and overseas each year. It is very much a family weekend with a host of entertainments including in past years Stunt Motor Cross Riders, Celebrity Events, Military Reinactments, Police demonstrations, Marching Girls, Rugby Challenge, Country Music, Pipe Bands, Vintage Shearing, Working Displays, Childrens Entertainment, and a large number of Craft and Food stalls.
