genuine question: why keep them in a pen like that? if you have the space why not fence off 1 larger area for them and let them free range? he says "best quality of life for them" but honestly that looks miserable to me, i mean by no means is it feed lot miserable but thats a whole different level of hellacious. Im setting up some chickens real soon (Eggs + Meat) and looking for the way i want to do it, big priority for me is happy chickens so im legitimately asking here why use pens you move around instead of one bigger fenced off area?

I went to my tomato plant the other day, i walked up grabed it and just ripped the tomato's off got my scissors out and cut off some suckers (branches) tore so leaves off, And then my 5 year old boy said to me "Dad thats so mean, don't you know that plant is alive how would you like it if, i came up and just cut your arms off, and ripped out your hair while i had your feet buried under the ground" I said you will understand some day. He said "well I not eating that"
