That's because that's d140 is not a real jd. A real jd is going to cost you 3600 to 6500 and you won't have any problem

Have a L120 and it won't start. No gas coming through and no spark. Any suggestion on what to look for.

I wish I would of bought another craftsman. My new D140 spits and sputters like it is starved for fuel. I could pinch of the pressure tube to the fuel pump and it runs okay. Took it into the shop with 12 hours on it and they said it was the fuel shut off solenoid. Tried to get me to pay for it because they said the fuel was dirty. Fuel Filter was clean and so was the gas tank. The ended up covering it under warranty and replaced the solenoid. brought it home and it went right back to the original problem. My 20 year old craftsman still runs good (on gas out of same gas cans used to fill John Deere) but doesn't mow very well, deck worn out. Wish I would of bought another craftsman. Wonder how they will try to void the warranty this time.
