These Massive 1000 horsepower Kenworth C510s at Burton Downs Mine are specifically designed for off-highway use and rated up to 250 tonne. They’re powered by Cummins’ 19-litre QSK-19 engine which complies with Australian on-highway emission requirements (ADR80). Designed primarily for high-end road train applications, the big-bore Cummins engine provides superior levels of durability and reliability than is currently available from smaller cubic capacity engines. The engine delivers 606 hp (447 kW) at 2100 rpm, with peak torque of 1950 lb ft (2644 Nm) at 1300 rpm. Other key components include an 18-speed Fuller RTLO-22918B transmission, with a first gear ratio of 14.4:1 through to 0.73:1 in overdrive. Rear axles are Axle Tech STRC-1297 hub reduction (they’re the old Rockwell off-road model) with a final ratio of 9.59:1. The front axle is Rockwell FL941 rated at 9.1 tonne and the 295 mm deep chassis which has a far thicker web and flange than its highway cousins and features a full length double frame. These power trailer units have a Smith built body on the power-trans chassis (they’re the company who built the power trailer unit) and they’re fitted with either Cummins ISX or Signature engines rated at 450 and 500 horsepower. They are coupled to an Allison automatic transmission and tri-drive SISU hub reduction axles. The control of these trailers is via both a cab mounted hand throttle and married to the accelerator pedal. The advantage of this for instance is when the unit is climbing a hill the trailer can be set at full throttle and when the driver changes gear in the Kenworth C510 there is minimal road speed loss as the trailer is still pushing the unit.

I get it truck plus powered trailer gets 1k hp
-
Someone that might know....Does each trailer have its own power unit??
-
'
that coool truck with trailers...
that trailer need only 2 axles...
not need 3 axles or not 4 axles -
So why is driving these considered "not skilled labor" by Border/Immigration?
-
as if 100 t wouldnt be ridiculous already
normal semi carries 32 , 4 axles and 8 t each
it's no wonder it's slower than a bicycle
dont get me wrong ; slow is good but not like that -
australia is a cool version of US

Lol the comments from the Euro truck fanboys. You can tell they've never been to Australia. We actually do have Euro trucks over here, but Kenworth outsells them by a country mile, even though KWs are a lot more expensive. That's not to say the Euros don't try hard, but they're just not up to it for our conditions. Australia isn't Europe by a long way.

Just added a new video with a classic V8 cracking on a push pull job https://youtu.be/-e5QM4THX3w

dont be too harsh on it, its engine was designed in the 30's...
-
torque is too less for that kind of displacement

Força do caralho

How can I get a trucking job in Australia. I would love it, already have my passport.

606 hp 1900lb ft of Tq... he says it right in the video....
-
I think people have overlooked the 2000 lbs of torque going through an 18 speed transmission.

Only in Australia!

He's just dropping of .1% of american debt.

I was worried he was going to go through all 18 gear ratios. Nice to get some actual specs though.
