We had a pile of branches and limbs about 40' wide by 40' long by 8' tall from all of the long neglected trees around our 5 acres when we bought this house. We picked up this awesome mid 80s russian tractor, a NorTrac 250A (Belarus 250A) with a fully hydraulic front end loader on the front and a PTO powered 4" wood chipper on the back. It took 2 whole days to completely chip every branch we could chip and plow the rest into a pile to load on the trailer. This tractor is I beleive a 24HP Diesel Tractor 2 wheel drive with High and Low and 6 speeds plus reverse. We ran the NorTrac 250A for 2 days straight and barely used 2 gallons of diesel. After doing some research online, it appears this same tractor is sold in the U.S. under several different names NorTrac and Belarus being the most popular. I feel like it is a well built tractor and works great for everything I have used it for so far. However, after doing a little bit of research online, I have noticed that they don't sell well they don't bring much money, and people generally have a low opinion of them. For this size of tractor, I think this is a great deal and can surely do anything a John Deere of similar specs can do. The frame and cross members are made of very heavy gauge metal, parts are readily available in the U.S. and there are attachments for just about everything. The NorTrac 250A or Belarus 250A has a 3 Point Hitch on the rear with independent controls and a PTO, power steering, 24HP Diesel 2 cylinder engine. The attachments are Front End Loader and PTO Powered Wood Chipper. Any questions, comments, or further information on this tractors is greatly appreciated.
