An operator goes through a maintenance checklist divided into four groups: prestart (a walkaround check for damaged parts or fluid leaks and a check of the engine and air filter system); warm-up (monitoring engine and dozer blade performance, checking brakes and steering); operating check (listening for unusual noises, reading gauges); and shutdown (proper parking, refueling, lubricating and cleaning).
