This tractor is 1 of 2 ever produced. It is fully documented so it's not just some farmer rig job. This tractor left IH without an engine and was sent to cummins for development. This is me taking the video and I was able to even drive it around the grounds. What an experience!!

My guess is a J series 4 cylinder Cummins-267 c.i.d.-would be current with about 1956-57 or so. J70 engine possibly. Way before the 4B series engines-this has a PT pump and Cummins unit injectors-I think the CDC B and C series engines used conventional inline or rotary pumps with Bosch injectors.

Did you happen to get the name of the owner of this tractor?
-
I wasnt trying to be "politically correct" i was just making a guess.
-
this was at rpru 2013 at Lima right?

the guy who owns this 450 had it at a plowday a few years ago, I took an extra 311 ih fast hitch plow, it pulled them in 3rd direct about 1/2 throttle! (t/a was out on the low side, didn't need it!) the 2 450's were bought by the same family new engine delete, the present owner has all the original paperwork for the order, and the prices of both tractors and engines. it was good to see them both together again as they are owned by 2 different families now. as for the cdc engines, I worked at a g.m. foundry in defiance, ohio. we poured the cdc blocks for about 2 years, they were a heavy duty engine block, they looked a lot different than the 2 cycle Detroit diesels we also poured! they were a powerful engine in the case tractors, and the base for future generations of case-ih power plants. sadly, our foundry was completely out of the heavy diesel castings by 1994 or so, after Penske bought Detroit diesel out. powertrain as it's now known by is currently the only source for duramax diesel engine blocks.

I like the looks of your 450 if you are ever interested in selling it let me know I am a International Junkie and a Cummins Junkie. Best of both worlds there you have a really rare tractor too. I am a fanatic I have 650s and 660s and 806 wheatlands and a w450 wheatland gas so far but still collecting I'm only 24 people call me crazy all the time. I probably am I am restoring one of those 806s currently restoring one of my 2 806s 23.1x30 rubber m&w turbo couldn't help myself lol.

What people don't know is J.I. Case was implementing Cummins engines in their tractors for years before the IH merger (i.e. 8.3l CDC Cummins). That's what led to Case IH's tractors using Cummins today, IH was making their own engines before J.I. Case took over.
-
No, I dont have a 450 let alone one this rare
-
Is yours the other one of the 2?
-
That's a vary nice tractor.I see the engine has a early PT injection pump
-
You are correct. This is a straight diesel start. beautiful sounding tractor
-
Even being a Cummins it sounds like a 450 this one does not start on gas I am guessing?
-
Woah sweet
-
I have never heard of this and that's a true diesel. How about that, what year model were these tractors? Is there a reason the engine is unpainted or is it painted gray? Did you make a video driving it, if so could you post it?

Pretty bad!
