Clutch only to take off, 13 s is good empty, but loaded; skipping shifts;are for lazy or unskilled drivers.

Uhm...18??? Geezzz...I've been testing out Euro Truck Simulator and was wonder if the developers had it wrong because of the 12 gears I have to shift through. But now I see that there are even 18 gears!? 0.o'

I drove 10 and 13 speed wireline trucks in the oilfield and you're absolutely right, no two trucks shift the same, they're all different. Driving up the hills and mountains in West Virginia and Pennsylvania in a 26 ton telescopic boom truck with a 275 horse Cummins is not fun. Thanks for the insight!

to me, this video just shows ME how YOU shift. it doesn't tell me what you are looking for, when you are shifting. I put an aweful lot more into my instruction when I am teaching. Your experience with shifting makes it look so simple, and students become very frustrated when they cannot shift like that. Yes with time they will get it, but when you explain the fundamentals of shifting, they will pick it up soooo much faster.
